Lead/Director UX 

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for a team of (onsite/remotely located) UX / Visual Designers; lead creative and holistic thinking across diverse product releases, platforms, and devices.
  • Foster our culture and principles within the organization, while setting new standards in executional and operational excellence.
  • Be responsible for and effectively advocate for users in a fast-paced, corporate climate, imparting day-to-day design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, content, business, and engineering.
  • Build stuff people want and love.
  • Help design digital platforms that generate value and are potentially monetizable for diverse clients of all sizes (familiarity with startup methodologies is a nice to have).

Research Skills 
  • Design hypotheses and lead basic user/product/market studies that examine behaviors and attitudes across people around the world
  • Conduct research using a wide variety of qualitative methods and a subset of quantitative methods, such as interviews, diary studies and surveys
  • Generate actionable insights that both explore broad understandings and evaluate product experiences

Design skills
  • Synthesize insights, communicate results, and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways that measurably improve the market fit and user delight of the products we ship
  • Design end-to-end service- and experience flows, mock-ups and individually contribute to the feature set if required.

Workshop / Client Engagement Skills
  • Ability to work onsite with the client and facilitate workshops to define the vision, collect relevant requirements, define success metrics, understand business needs, set a product- and at times the digital business strategy.

About You...
  • 10+ years UX experience with multiple clients, projects and teams
  • 3+ years of experience managing or leading design teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships
  • Experience with qualitative and user-centered design and design thinking methods
  • Experience translating research insights into products that help connect people
  • Experience with UI, UX in a digital context (web, mobile, native)
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English
